Decent Pocket Camera that shoots 60fps that can record without shutting off

Hello,

I'm looking for a third camera that I can use that is small but shoots HD in 60fps. I also am looking for one that is within the price range of say 100-500 US Dollars. The only current one I have stops recording when it gets to 1GB and the power shuts off if you don't touch it.

There any pocket cameras that will record as long as the camera is on with the requirements I'm looking for? I want it pocket size so I can mount it somewhere for a third camera for multicam shoots.

Over a week and no response? My take: You need cargo pants, but every bottom of the range camcorder from the three big manufacturers will shoot continuous 60p: Canon R800, Sony CX405, Panasonic V180, very hard to pick a winner, depends on your wants, all around $US200, all light and compact and amazing what they offer, e.g the V180 has manual shutter, aperture, gain, focus tracking, time lapse. The battery that comes with the V180 only runs for an hour, but it also can charge through USB, so even away from mains plug in your external smartphone battery and you get four hours at no extra cost. You don't get 4K, IQ and DR isn't up with a Varicam , autofocus is fast but goes to bed at sunset, and you're looking at compromises in low light and with audio. In the rush to shoot video with smart phones and travel cams cheap camcorders seem largely to have been bypassed, but they shoot much better video at a bargain price.

You can waste $499 dollars buying the wrong thing if you want something under $500, best save that $499 and put it towards the correct tool for the job, the BM is $800 or abouts.. seems close to me, not like Im suggesting the proper solution which is a budget inappropriate S2k Flare.

Depends what you want as control. The GoPro or Sony http://www.sony.ca/en/electronics/actioncam/fdr-x3000-body-kit. Are small pocket cams that have good performance and fit your budget. Lots of Youtube video for you to check.

I have a GoPro 3 and a Sony HDR-AS30V and find the SOny remote a lot better and uses less power. The newer X3000 and AS3000 have the BOSS image stabilization too.

A used BMPCC? I've seen them go for around $500 in good shape. Not sure if it does what you want though. The BM Micro seems like another good suggestion, look for a used one to get you into the price you need.

A BMPCC doesn't shoot 60p...but we all wish it did! Maybe Version II in a few months...:2vrolijk_08:

I think the Micro is a good choice, but if you have to use an external monitor/recorder then that opens up some more options...maybe some of the Panasonic small mirrorless cameras could be considered. If you go a bit bigger, a GH4 could be found for $800-$900, maybe less.
