Deathface - music vid shot on AF100

Thought i'd share a music vid i just finished shot on the AF100. i've learned a lot from this site and thought it was time to contribute and get more involved.

- lenses: tokina 11-16 (w/kipon adapter) and voigtländer 25mm f0.95.
- all lighting done with 3 LED-600 CoolLights (minus exterior shots).
- i'm a fan of heavy grading in magic bullet looks.

In retrospect, i should have stopped the voigtländer down a little more to better control focus. also, there was a strobe on set that gave it that EX1 rolling shutter half "flashed" frame problem. but, no ones complained yet. anyway, thanks for watching! - matt.

The flash framing looks really bad, I honestly don't know how you used it as the shot looks ruined to me. Other than that looks good.

I liked most of the parts, but isn't this like a re-shoot from the movie "Blade" (at the beginning of it). It really reminds me of that movie!

yes. i agree somewhat. i think maybe i got away with it because the non-technical viewer is watching the video thinking "what is happening, what is going to happen"... maybe? haha. but yes, in the future i'll probably say no strobe light on set and somehow create a strobe effect in post. thanks for watching though. - matt.

yes! the director and music artist called it a "homage" to Blade. some of the framing is almost exactly the same - we tried to replicate the shots on purpose. - matt.

Just a note, you should be really careful when shooting with those kind of lasers going off (green ones). If one shoots directly into the lens, it will permanently damage your sensor. There are some gruesome examples on youtube.

crap! i heard a little about that and sort of crossed my fingers. i was using a matte box and made sure not to point the lens directly at the laser machine. thanks for the tip though! - matt.
