GH2 Death Valley - September 2013

Before 4k madness descends on us Friday (I’m all in BTW) here’s a short clip from a September 2013 South West trip. Filmed with a stock Panasonic GH2 (with a broken LCD) and the 14-45mm lens. Stabilized and color balanced in FCP X.

Also this is the first time I’ve used a ProRes 422 source file to see if it helps with Vimeo’s compression. Makes for a large download, but from early impressions it seems to me to improve the output. Comments on this and if anyone has playback problems, most welcome.

Such a great place! After seeing this I had to look around for some motel reservations :) I will watch again tonight at home, my connection is much better there.
 
@Frank - It is strangely beautiful. I really want to go back there at night to do some night sky photography.
