Hello all,
I had the opportunity to view the independent film "Deadland" at the Delray Beach Film Festival last weekend and I just wanted to say to the film makers that it was a great job well done!
I was particularly interested in this film because it was shot with the HVX200 with the RedRock DOF adapater and I was really curious to see how well it looked on the big screen.
I saw Sarah Landon and the Paranormal Hour in the theater in 07, and unfortunately something was wrong and the film was unacceptably fuzzy being played back from a 35mm print. This caused concern regarding whether or not the HVX was capable of theatrical projection.
Well, the film festival projected Deadland off a standard definition DVD from a cheap projected onto a large screen and it looked great. VERY SHARP. Something must have been wrong during the shooting process or film transfer of Sarah Landon because this film help up perfectly.
On a film point of view, the story was intriguing enough to keep it together, the acting was suprisingly decent for the most part, and the direction and cinematography were excellent.
I enjoyed this film and I recommend other to view it (especially if you want to see what the HVX can do)
