Here's a music video we did last fall. Not really sure why i didn't post a link sooner. The B story got rained out so its just all performance footage. Kinda drags a little. Only had 2 days to shoot so it is what it is. Woops, I'm mean check it out you'll love it!!!

Hey man ... is that Hamilton Terrace off of 144th Street and Amsterdam in Harlem? Hah! Very cool!

I like the lay out man ... good comps and smooth shots. Great compression, too. What did you use ... looks very clean.

Good stuff, his style kinda reminds me of Blackalicious'. Couple suggestions....would've been nice to have more close-ups on the beat-boxers mouth to convey what it is he's really doing, I know it would've been difficult synching it but I think it would've showed off his talents a bit more. I know how music videos are nowadays, cut after cut to match the tempo of the song, but I felt that one of the strongest shots on this piece was when you kept the shot long when he was talking about his mom as his inspriration. Would've been nice to have a few move long shots to mellow it out since the mood of the song is really mellow.

Great stuff Jesse, as always! I have Field Theory on my comp. and watch it at least once a month it's so good.

Sucks you got rained out. Please post more of your future work.

hey Jesse!
that looked great. very professional looking! did you use a wide angle lens?
i really liked your jib shots. did you do a lot of stuff in post?
well done mate!
sincerly, joakim

Dope beat. I think it would be hard to make a bad music vid for this song. My favorite shot was the pan following the lead singer back to the band where he picks up the mic. The buildings and sunset moving past in the background just make that shot stand out. I think the whole vid could have been shot in that format...following the lead singer with people/places passing in the background/foreground. Great stuff Jesse! Curious to what the other half was going to be if it didn't get rained out? I'm a fan of your other stuff as well. Are you making a career with your skills yet?

Thanks a lot. Ya the best part is definitly when Felix walks over to the band. It just takes to long time to get there. Its the right moment in the song but it drags.

Its actually all shot downtown. The roof of my old apt east 7th st. And the park is around houston and the east river. The club stuff was shot at pianos in the LES.

It was all shot with natural lighting except pianos, just house lights. Color correction in FCP with a slight black diffusion with Magic bullet. The trickest part was making some of the wide shots in the end have the same sun set as the walk over. One of the side wides was a completely blue sky.

First time with a jib too, definitly plan on using them a lot more.

Haven't had to much free time for any personal projects latley, just working a ton. Editing mostly, but recently been doing some directing, which is always a blast. Get out of the office.

which im already late to.

I agree with Kevin on several points. The rapper moving to his mic had a good feel to it. This video had lots of potential, not saying that it's bad, I would just love to seen it with the storyline.

I would also like to know the compression on this...definitely nice lookin'

let us know how you did some of this...

Ya, as i said before we only had two days with the group, Not from NYC, and we got rained out the second day. I compressed it sorenson squeeze compression suite.

Does a great job, been waiting for some free time to mess around with h.264 codec.

Loved it. But it wouldn't hurt to bump up the contrast and do a little more CC (although that would mean hell with the sunset you were talking about). And if you make different locations different colors it'll help break up the video and feel like you've covered more space and taken the audience on a longer journey.

But other than that, good stuff.

Great tune, Good video. Looks ace. I think you got the best performances on the roof-top. Singer did'nt look as relaxed in other setups. Wide in park was too contrived. Not sure about the Bass player. Great tune.
Good work fella

Nice work

Its was very professionally done. looked really good. Only thing I may have added was more movement. Good job
