Dead pixel on my 5d mkii lcd ?

just bought my 5d mkii second hand with 800 actuations on it... I checked it out pretty thoroughly when I bought it but now a week later I turn the camera on and now I have a dead pixel on my lcd... I did some research and saw people mentioning hot pixels and how to reset it with manual sensor cleaning, however from what I gather this is only relevant if you see the pixel in your footage/pics which I do not. im guessing its simply a dead pixel on the lcd just like a computer monitor... is this common? Ive had many dslr's and never had this problem and am assuming that it is an arm and a leg to replace the lcd screen. I would not care so much if I shot mainly photos but I bought it for video and will be using liveview constantly. anyone replaced this before? or know of the cost? Im considering whether its worth selling it super discounted on craigslist and eating the loss and buying a brand new one or simply replacing the lcd
any advice or knowledge is greatly appreciated!!!

No idea about cost of repairing, but I think I have dead pixels on mine. Possibly due to viewfinder being pointed at sun and acting as a magnifying glass. A Zacuto Z-finder will burn a screen in about 10 seconds, and all it takes is carrying the camera the wrong way as you're walking around. I'd imagine it's a common problem...
