De-clicking lenses

I just did a few Canon FDs, with some Nye grease, and now they're as silky as the focus helicoils, and I much prefer it for video - MUCH!

as I see you're UK based - Bristol? - could you possibly say which grease you used (the heaviest one??) and where you found a UK supplier.

You can buy the 80mm front ring separately, just google "Cine Ring"

Reviving an old thread as I don't want to create a new one. Which NYE grease did you guys end up using?

He charges $250 for a de-click, a good delrin lens gear and 77mm front ring adapter. It's a quality cine-conversion.

For just the de-click he charges about $70. I had an entire set done and was very pleased by the experience. I had some very nice Nikkors that I didn't want to chance messing up with my own DIY, so I shipped them off.

I apologize for my ignorance, but may I ask what is declicking a lens. I am new to all of this and I came here trying to learn some things. So any sound simple explanation would be much apreciated.
