Daytime infrared?

So, I just noticed that the remote control's infrared transmitter is actually seen and recorded by the DVX100A as a blinking red light.

I searched and found a post mentioning that people have tried to use it with infrared lights for night time shots, but that it's way too little light to illuminate anything.

However, has anyone tried it during the day? I know some digital still camera owners have used infrared filters that block all visible light, and they are able to record an interesting image in B&W where foliage (grass, trees) appears to be white, as one would expect with infrared film.

If the DVX100A is sensitive to a wide enough spectrum of infrared, a filter to block visible light is used, and perhaps the gain is cranked way up, would you get an image during the day?

I'd love to try it out, but I can't find a camera or video store in my area with a filter in stock, and special ordering one is very pricey.

Is anyone out there interested in trying to find one to try out, and share some test footage with us all?

i've always wondered about using the right filter and then an infra red light to do night shots.

has anyone ever tried any sort of infra red with the dvx?
