daylight lighting for interviews / dancers ?

Can anyone recommend some cheap constant daylight lighting for shooting dancers full body indoors, also for interviews sitting down.

Thinking of something that can also be used on the go, e.g. LED lighting?

Based in the UK

That's in the US. I'm aware it's easier to get stuff over there, but I'm in the UK, it can be a nightmare here to source things. Also, are you sure 200W is enough for this purpose?

LEDs are definitely a possibility. We ship all the time to UK, its not all that difficult a process. You can contact us at info@coollights.biz if you like and we can give a quote or answer other questions you may have. Thanks.

Talk to Richard. He's a really great guy and can probably help figure out the best way to get it to you. I've had him drop ship us stuff straight from China when it was necessary.

Fluorescent is different than tungsten. A 200w fluorescent is the equivalent of a 700w tungsten. For most interviews, that's more than enough. As long as you can put the light within 10 feet of the person, I think you'll be fine.

EDIT: Looks like you beat me to the reply, Richard. :)

Thanks for your comments NextWaveG. The only issue I see with the 200w bulb is its the only thing we sell that's purely 110v 60hz. Thus no 220v 50hz version. I would think either one of our 55w flo units or the LED 600 would be better in this case because of their ability to work on 110 or 220.

Good point. Forgot about the different voltages.

BTW, loving the Speed Softboxes. Don't think I'll ever be able to go back to the old style.

Right, thats kind of the difference between an older "studio" type softbox (best left setup) with rods and a newer design that folds down / up really easily. Again keeping with the themes of the studio vs. portable models.

It is for us who have to receive anything from the US.. I've done my fair share of ordering from the US, and never again. UK import tax from the US is extremely time consuming and expensive. :( Here in the UK, the government wants us to buy things from the UK and not abroad - but they don't realise that a lot of stuff is only available abroad.

I used to order equipment all the time, but import charges were crazy. I once ordered a drink mixer only available in the US. It cost $9.95. By the time it had gone through UK customs, it took 2 months to arrive, and $52 in import tax.

Never again..

Maybe consider using blue gells to balance to daylight. I don't know what lighting heads you are working with, but I like using Lowel Tota(2k w) with blue gells siimply 'pinned' with wooden clothes pins. Just my suggestions-Ron
