i'm trying to get a timelapse shot of the city's skyline, but it seems like the more the sun goes down the more out of focus my footage gets. am i doing something wrong?
well I dont know, focus has nothing to do with the Timelapse aspect. I would say unless you have your auto focus on than that might be the issue. Also if you are doing a skyline, I would set the focus on infinity. Make sure you are on manual settings. except the iris. That is what I did with my timelapse of sunrise. I also knew the weather for the next day and al the aspects, so I actually preset my iris and shutter and ND for what I knew the sun should be, also for where the sun would be. I only did it once. It was too early for me to get up So we'll try again sometime. Let me know how it works. I'm up for learning as well.
damn that was it, i just checked my hvx and noticed the focus was on the freakin auto selection. i forgot a friend came over and was filming something around the house. now i have to go back out there tomorrow night to get the same timelapse over, lol.
surjones whats up with the infinity switch though? i've never used it. how does it work? also i saw your latest night time lapse how did you get it so bright? were you just in well lit areas or did you adjust it in post?
Chris, This is covered in your HVX user manual, and Barry Greens book. If you need on I have one for sale. you can only set to Infinity if you have your focus set up for the mm/ff Than it will show infinity, otherwise it is M99
