Hi Guys ! I am directing a short film to be shot here in Ireland. We will be shooting beside a fantastic natural corrie lake and was wondering if anybody can help.
We will be using two HVX 200's for coverage as we will be under sever time constraints as we only have two to two and a half days to shoot the scenes.
While not quiet in the wild it is a 40 min treck each day to the location; cutting into our shooting time etc.
In the final scene the two central characters take a small dingy out on the lake as it is getting dark. I was thinking of shooting day for night but with two cameras to filter and balance we may run into problems in post. Also both cameras will be set up quiet a distance away making adjustments even via radios difficult.
One positive however is the water in the lake almost always appears black, something to do with the depth and location. I was wondering if we shoot it naturally and use something like Magic Bullet/ Tiffen or some other plugins in Final Cut we can at least be certain we are getting both images to appear the same once we balance under the natural light and keep the f-stops about the same.
I may be wrong but we can at least work with both images in this instance, if we filter and are not spot on then we are stuck.
Any ideas guys. As the director I have a lot riding on these scenes as this is one of the pivotal scenes in the film.
Thanks
