Davinci Resolve 11 final release out now

Has anyone tried to export full 4K out of the new Resolve lite? Hope they didn't remove that from Beta. I'm not at my computer to test right now.
 
Lite version is restricted to UHD resolution. I just double checked. So 3840x2160

Hi Gene,

Can you share the config of your 8 Core Mac Pro including RAM, GPU, ect? Did it work at all was the performance just lacking? Was it a good config with Resolve 9?

Hi Gary,

It missed the cut off as specified by Black Magic. It was a first generation 8 core Mac Pro, and apparently the minimum required was 3rd generation 8 core, or something like that. So it would not even start and all I got was an error message of some sort. I bought a 2013 iMac to replace it and it works great.
 
Have you been able to confirm that's still the case with the full release? Reading a thread here the other day on how exactly to make that work, I only just got that going in the beta.

Yes. You can still select 'export at source resolution' and you get a 4K file but... There are big black bars top and bottom so the output is still UHD.

does this mean...that the only way to get exported full 4k from da vinci without the black bars is to buy the full version? or is there a way to get the full 4k 4096 x 2160 export - render at source resolution also with the lite beta version....
I have been playing intensively with da vinci lite 11 beta and my sony 4k raw files from odyssey...however when exporting I always get the black bars which really bugs me - since I have to crop the picture afterwards and I am loosing precious resolution - and getting 3840 x 2160 or even less....I am not completely sure...can you comment on that...I run davinci 11 lite beta on an imac 2013....thanks

Yup. If you go to the view menu (I think) at the bottom there is an option to see the window frame. Click on that, then the green plus button and it should reset to your window size - although sometimes some of the screen is chopped off (reset UI and try again).

It's really annoying. The other option is to change the resolution of the screen (in system preferences).

Alternatively, since you have a Retina MBP, you could go to your System Preferences, then Display, and choose "more space", which will give you higher working resolution.
 
Quick Resolve 11 Lite question.

I noticed in Project Settings > Camera RAW there are new options for Lift, Gain and Contrast. I tried changing the values on these settings, but they have no effect the clips, unlike the Exposure, Tint, Color Boost settings in the right panel.

It would be great if I could just set a default Contrast setting for all clips, but I must be missing a step because I can't get it to work. Any pointers?
