Yes.
A majority of Thai people (including police) believe that if a body is found without clothes on then that person was doing something bad (sex or drugs) so authorities quickly rule it an over-dose, alcohol poisoning, or a suicide and the real story never gets investigated. Because of this, people know that if you want to kill a foreigner in Thailand just take his clothes off and the police won't investigate.
Also, it's much better for their economy (based on tourism) if foreign deaths are ruled "accidental" or a "suicide". Which is why the police are lazy to investigate or they will make a murder scene appear to be a "suicide".
It is because of these two things that countless foreigners have been robbed and murdered in this country and almost every one of them are found without clothes on, subsequently ruled a suicide, and their attackers go free.
One man was found dead, without clothes on, here in Nong Khai (ruled an over-dose). Another one recently fell naked from his apartment (ruled a suicide). The most suspicious is when two foreigners were found naked, one on top of the other, and the police said they both died of alcohol poisoning. Really? Both men? At the same time?
The fact is, if Mr. Carradine was not a celebrity then his death would have been ruled a suicide and not investigated further. Now the police need to really do their job and hopefully the truth will come out. No matter how he died, he deserves the truth.
