Hello everyone.

I used to work at Coffey Sound in Hollywood, and then spent some years doing sound design for features, tv, and video games, but I'm now the sales manager at K-Tek. I just wanted to take a moment to say hey again, and mention that I have set up a K-Tek facebook page (link below). I don't really want to spam the forum, but I just wanted to make you folks aware of my presence, and that I'm really here to help anyone with questions more than anything else.

I hope to also contribute with questions about sound design and other post issues, as that was my life for a while, and I became quite knowledgeable in that area.

Hello Dave,

I don't know if you knew him, but I was saddened last year by the passing of Mr. Klem, K-Teks founder. I spoke up with him on a couple of occasions, starting off with a couple of quick equipment questions, and ending up talking for extended times with him since we had much in common. I just love it when I call up a company and get to speak with the owner! In any event, he had a large influence on modern TV and video, was a tremendous innovator, and besides that was just a helluva nice guy.

Yes, I knew Manfred Klemme very well. I got to know him back when I was a product specialist at Coffey Sound. Other than my wife and kids, I have no family east of the Mississippi, and he was always like a grandfather to me. I enjoyed every time I saw him very much because he was great to chat with. He was brilliant, and always in a good mood. I was living in Vegas when he passed and was unable to make it to his memorial service (I was working on video games at the time), and I didn't hear about his passing until after the service. I was very saddened to hear about it, and I still get misty eyed when I talk with Brenda (his daughter who has been at the company for some time now) about him. Hell, I'm getting misty eyed now. Everybody loved him.

I was always impressed with how he dealt with people, and it's my goal to do the same. My mantra around the office is "What would Manfred do?".

I joined back up here, not to spam you guys with sales stuff, but I want to answer any questions you folks may have, either here on the board, or through private messages. Everybody is important, no matter where they are in their career, or even if the audio side of things is just a hobby.

So, let me know if you guys need anything, or even with new product ideas. I'm open to anything.

Dave

Welcome Dave. We look forward to your knowledge here on the forums. Hopefully by gathering up requests we see some innovative products develop by listening to end user feedback. Great bunch of folks here.
