I was at old faithful, standing a ways away with a telephoto lens, intently focused on the geyser which was about to erupt and didn't notice an entire family of buffalo walking inches behind me until a ranger yelled "Get AWAY from the bufallo!". I noticed them and walked quietly away without incident...That would've been a real dumb way to die.
 
What's truly awful is that this morning I saw the doofuses involved being interviewed on one of the network morning shows.

What the hell kind of message does that send? Conduct yourself like a total freakin' clinical idiot...and if you survive you get rewarded with national air time and recognition! As if you actually have something edifying or useful to say, that anyone else needs to hear...

I wonder if taunting animals in a national park by throwing things at them is prosecutable. I sure hope so.
