Darren Aronofsky's latest

interesting, it looks more processed then i would have imagined.

its in HD as well, sweeet. its great to finaly, after about 4 years to see some footage...im excited to see this film.

I saw this film a couple months back and it had some cool effects in it like when Hugh Jackman is floating through space with his dying tree. But that was really the only thing I liked about the film. Those three stories going on at the same time are a little much for me. But the look of the film was very cool. Too bad a good film isn't just made up of cool looking stuff.

I'm definitely stoked about this one. Aronofsky is one of my favorite contemporary directors.

I'm like the only A-Hole on the planet that has yet to see Reqiuem and only part of Pi (which I did not love; a little too 'abstract' for my tastes)....

But I likey this one.

Ya gotta see Requiem for a Dream at least once. If for no other reason than to see a Snorri Cam in action. It too may be a little too abstract for many, but it would fall into the category of must see films in my book.

Finally a little tease on this film. It definitely looks very processed, there's a shite load of grain in that footage. Wonder if that was a budget constraint or a stylistic choice. Can't wait for this one.

I've been meaning too; it is literally ALWAYS out at the rental store. Pisses me off.

if you are refering to blockbuster...do not rent requiem from blockbuster...they made Darren do an alternate cut so that they would rent it in their stores. just make sure the front cover says "unedited version".

That trailer didn't do a thing for me. I mean, if I didn'y know the director;s previous work I'd have passed over this as looking kinda stupid.

But I'll see it cause RFAD was so amazing it's hard to believe.

God I loved that movie.

I'm glad that this dude is finally off of drugs, and is done screwing with everyones lives (if you did not know, this was part of the reason that Brad Pitt dropped out of the film)

As a side note, he's doing an episode of Lost. I'm actually more excited to see that.

just curious, how is it that you know this? just wonderin

He recently did some interviews where he alluded to him "going through a really dark part of his life". As to the other reason why I know, I cannot really comment, as I signed a confidentialty agreement about it. You can probably put it together for yourself by googling who the spokesperson for Edwin Jeans is. I worked on their latest string of commercials under Darius Khondji. Nuff' said.

Edit ~> It is also widely known that he got Jared Leto hooked while they were shooting Requiem so that he could more accurately portray an addict. This in part why Cameron Diaz left him... Leto, not Darren.

Oh my god.... you are joking?

Thats insane. I heard that there were certain films they wouldnt stock, but thats ridiculous. It's the kind of thing you wouldnt hear of happening in the UK - but that said over the last few years 'blockbuster' have literally taken over all of the videos stores here - so who knows...... scary stuff.

BTW, requiem for a dream is a fantastic movie. One of my faves.

PS if they cut 'requiem' what would they do to a film like 'irreversible'????

no not joking, i worked on the fountain (at the time it was called "The Last Man") when i was close to finished i handed Darren a RFAD dvd to sign, he was like "what the **** is up with the edited version?!" and i was like "what?!" then he told me what the deal was with blockbuster and all that ****, i cant believe i didnt see the "edit version" on the ****in dvd cover...anyway...he signed it anyways but also put on it "what the **** is up with the edited version!". he said to go get the unedited version and he would sign it too.
