Dark Legends

Hi aurantaurant,

Thank for the comments. I take it you mean The Invisible Man wearing bandages. Yes, that's me and I am from Stockport originally (Greater Manchester) and I see Karl Pilkington grew up in Manchester.

FeedBack -

Goods
1) Nice Sets
2) Amusing! Its funny and enjoyable a wee romp
3) Some really amusing characters (the zombie tee hee!) Others fall a bit flatter!

Bads
1) Some clips aren't deinterlaced (field options - de-interlace) if your using premiere
2) boom pole in the mirror
3) Lighting was a little high key/flat at times, where low key lighting (a bit more like the scientist dr jeckyl would have been better (though it too could be darker!)

Overall - I thought it was a charming and amusing piece, uneven in parts though, but obvious effort has gone into this, and i think its a nice wee mocumentary piece!

Just to add my favourite wee joke (apart from the zombies's by gum ramblings lol that fitted the orkney accent incredibly!!! Was the // spoiler // end credit make up!

Thank Lawrie,

Yes, the boom pole is an annoying one as well as the lamp behind the ghost. We/you will hopefully be able to remove it.
Deinterlacing should be done and I will have a word to make sure that from now on it is.

I am glad you enjoyed it though. Thanks for reviewing.

More reviews please, thanks.

Well, the comment that I had, has been made, which is for a series of 'dark legends' the images are pretty bright. So, my comment is to work with some filtering and adjustments to get a more moody, and 'dark', look. In most cases it looks like you
have things exposed well enough to make some adjustments 'to taste'. Perhaps even using some garbage mattes to give very differential brightness/contrast/color
control.

But at the moment it looks too video...

Also, the intro could be done a lot smoother... not so chopy...

But back to 'dark'... for example, the intro Dracula sequnce. Make adjustments so that only Dracula's face is lit, and the 2 candelabras. In the 'dark' background one sees the form of the woman on the right side, but it is in 'shadow', 'deep shadow'.

So to do that you may have to make mattes that put these background elements into 'dark'. You'll have to experiment with things.

Hi j1clarke, thanks for your comments.
What do you mean by the intro being choppy?
Besides the footage being dark, what did you think of the film itself?

I have placed this film on password control, as it is in edit to change some of the consistant faults people have found with it.

The password is legends, if anyone wants to see the original. Thanks.
