dancing pixels?

hi all,

have a problem i can't solve:

no matter what settings on my ag-dvx100be, no matter what the light is, i get these kind of dancing pixels footage /noise -not sure how to call it- all over the picture. i already reset the camera. also used a panasonic head cleaner tape, but it doesn't help. also doesn't matter on which pc or mac i capture, using premiere or fcp, so it must be a camera malfunction.

and i only use the panasonic master quality tapes, so don't get it.

a friend suggested to record the camera's color bars on tape. if it's a head/tape problem then the color bars should have the same dancing pixels/noise. i have recorded and capture them, and the color bars are just fine.

what to do? does anyone have any experience with this? does the camera need a check up? the camera is about 2,5 years old.

thx for answering,

best,

dave

thx for your reply
i've shot a 15 sec vid to show. i mean those "dancing pixels" (dp), like on the wall. it shows best on full screen.
vimeo didn't transcode it very well, at some points it looks more like a still, but the dp are showing a few times during the 15 sec.
i shot this after a camera reset, daylight, with normal settings and using a new tape. the dp also show on my mac screen, btw, when connected with the camera by firewire.

That is odd. I don't know what to make of it. If you look at the books on the left they loose definition and the image seems to freeze about half way through the clip.

Maybe you should listen to such danceable music while editing.

Are we talking about where stuff jumped about five seconds in?

I don't see anything unusual in the video, just normal noise.

You can try lowering your detail setting or tweaking your coring.

A certain amount of noise is perfectly normal. Have you seen a film on the big screen? Even well shot films have tons of grain (basically noise).

The video does seem to "stop" from about 0:05-0:09 and it is really noticeable on the text on the book. Though it could be mistaken for compression artifacts except the "softness" or extra "noise" it fades back into focus.

also

I wish I could keep my desk even that clean. It's always a mess of cords, hard drives, tapes, tape, various cameras, more cords, there's even a good sized rock! Why is there a rock on my desk!?
