damaged project file

Hi!

I was working with a big project in PP. There was some problem with my PC and the project file (.prproj). Now I cannot open it (PP says it is maybe damaged).
IS there any method to recover it (or some part)?
I have 1.5 months working in it. I know (now) that I should have copied it to another place, but I haven't. :-( I never experienced such thing before.

Please, any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I met with this problem when I was working with PP 2.0 then I try to open the project in Premiere Pro 1.5. It's best to open with the same version of premiere.

Try to open using the auto save project file. Check the one with the latest date. If you manage to open it.. re save it using a different file name.

-You can also try importing it in another new project.

-Try deleting your rendered clips folder.

-Some times if a project gets complex, you can try offlining all the video by renaming or moving the footage. Then if you've managed to open relink your footage in the project bin.
Just make sure you don't click show exact names, I thinks it called. It will link all the footage in a folder in one go.
This way you can find a bad clip or damaged one.

I hope it all works out for you.

Thank you for your answers! I tried all, but unfortunately the file was so bad that I could not recover it. I even tried tha XML Wrench method.

Last resort: Search in your Programm folder.

Like C:\Programme\Adobe\Adobe Premiere....

There are sometimes (depending on your settings) automatic backup versions of your project.

You really have to dig deep ino that folders - saved my arse more than once.

Hope that helps, Frank
