Damaged Firestore Battery Contacts

I have been usinig my HVX and firestore w/ long life battery setup for months with no problems. I rented another firestore for a shoot and used the rented firestore's long life battery.

Though it was a Focus Enhancments make, this battery was built differenly than my long life battery. It had plastic seperators between each of its battery contact points while my battery (the one that never gave me a problem) does not.

Getting to my point.

This rented battery took off two of my Firestore FS-100's gold battery contacts.

Now no battery can work with it.

Has anyone had this problem.

Did Focus Enhancments work with you to fix it if it was under warrenty?
 
Ya, I had the same problem you are describing. A company I worked for a couple of weeks a go rented a FS-100 and when I took it out of the case three of the four pins were bent or missing. The rental company, which will remain unnamed, had to overnight us a new Firestore. I don't know if you can repair it cheaply though.

Seems to be a problem with the FS100.

A friend who works at a rental co said he has had it happen 3 times, units had to be repaired by firestore. Apparently some rental houses are dumping the firestore, its causing them too many problems.
