Hello Fellow DVX users. The unthinkable has happened, and a nearly brand new DVX100B was stolen during the week of March 3rd, 2008, from the Dallas/Carrollton area (or possibly Ridgewood, NY area).
I was shipping it from Carrollton, TX to Ridgewood, NY, and evidently someone tampered with the package, extracted the camera/box, and sealed up the shipping carton. I am assuming it was removed sometime before it left TX (it was sent UPS), since only the sending location would have a record of what is in the box. It arrived at the destination with only a padded carry case in the box and no camera. I can't disclose too many details at the moment since it is currently an open case under investigation.
The camera has 8 hours on the heads, and was boxed up
like brand new, and has a silver aftermarket battery included. Serial number under the eyepiece is I6ND00113.
I just thought I'd put out an APB, in case a fellow forum member stumbles across someone trying to unload a suspicious camera.
If you are in the market for one, PLEASE check the SN before purchasing!
If any one has any idea how something like this could happen, any and all thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is becoming a nightmare!
