Daddy Shark. HVX underwater test

Yes the century/schneider fisheye. The .55 I think it's more of a wide than a really distorted fish. I think that the .45 from 16x9 is too much and not as versatile..

Hey Justyn -

The footage looks fantastic! I'm really falling in love with that .55.

What is the weight of your housing?

Its 8 pounds. so with the HVX and wide angle and that.. Maybe 15 pounds all together.. but it floats so that takes a lot of the weight.. plus he designed the handles and the operation to be close to the body and that.. Really cool one. Already think I have another gig in Miami so things are paying off

Hey Justyn...I know you have been looking for the right housing for a while, footage looks great, can't wait to see your next project, well done. My friend just made a custom housing for his hvx200, have not seen footage yet but is doing a NG piece on the east coast. cb

Thanks. It is Florida where's there's water abound. Hoping for a trip to the keys soon to shoot some reef stuff. That should be interesting. I'll post some footie here and I am going to try and compose some music for this or find someone close.

great footage! Love the fisheye, you barely notice it. I have the . 75 zoom through which fits my mattebox. I would like to get the .55 for some skate footage I'm taking but it won't fit in the mattebox. Thinking about getting the .6 with it's partial zoom through. Did you buy the housing just for fun?

thanks all. I bought the housing to do some work for Ski Nautique and to shoot a horror film idea we are doing in November. Should be some fun.

I like the century fish because it's bayonette mount so it doesn't come in contact with the camera lens really.. it's super easy to put on. and it's really clean with minimal softening of the lens. I do wish I had the extreme but that's 3k. I got the one for 600 from B and H. I'll post a link later.

Check this out: I shot this yesterday.. Got about an hour of MONEY like this: http://www.electriccowtheater.com/YOYO/YO.mov

thanks all

DUDE. Rockin underwater footage.

I was skeptical at first, then saw pics of housing and was impressed. That footage blows me away. Were you on manual focus? Thought I spotted a couple of focus pulls, wasn't sure if it was auto setting. That guy did a great job on this gear for ya.

Congrats on the RC helio biz- sounds cool. I checked out some footage eariler tonight. How's that coming?

I'm also in Orlando- we'll have to get together some time. I may have need of an underwater HVX some time soon here... hmmm.

Damn that YOYO footage looks so crisp!!! Great use for the fisheye!

Was it a bit scary watching the yoyo SWING towards the lens?
Or did you have a protection of sorts in case the yoyo left his hand?

Insane focus and detail!

Thanks man and certainly hit me up through PM or email: justynrowe@gmail.com

I have the camera set as I usually shoot with my fisheye and it's not a zoom through and the focus is in the macro range. Don't touch focus. I find it so hard just to compose the shots that I leave it as simple as possible. Usually auto iris as well. I could do it all manually but it's just too much if you are doing action sports or things in general. I will have some helicopter footage soon. We shot a test on Sunday but the more polished piece will begin this weekend. cheers

ahh. thanks. On the yoyo.. Nothing protecting it.. just faith in the young lad. I love the century fisheye. I use it all the time and now that cavision makes a lens hood for it.. I can use it outside more often.. gets massive lens flares outside. Cheers all.

Dude, is that the same guy that made Katen's housing for his still camera? Also I hear you guys are coming up to my neck of the woods again to film. You coming with? I will be there forsure!

Yes that's the one and only guy, Jim Bailey. Katen totally helped me pick this out and shot most of the underwater stuff from the tube. Katen is the greatest. Where is your neck of the woods? I hope that I'm coming along, but I'm not really dialed into the wakeboarding community so I'm just helping him with the Rusty doc. Would be nice to get to shoot more of that stuff, but I don't know if i'm "BRA" enough to do that, if you know what I mean... cheers

I am up in MN. I shot stills alongside Katen when he was up here for the Oakley video last summer. I don't know all the details for this year but am pretty stoked regardless. It is way too cold her right now. How do you like that Century Fisheye? I was looking to get one as well. Looks pretty dope from what I can tell.

I really like the fisheye because.. sure it's really wide and is fisheye, but it's not extrme and it's not too specialized to one be able to use it once in a while. It also doesn't bow too bad... don't have really any light loss, and best of all.. It screws into the bayonet mount on the camera. I absolutely love it, but the only thing that stinks it that it's hard to keep clean and it doesn't have a lens hood or filter screws. The lens hood will be corrected with a purchase of that cavision lens hood, but it's like a 120 bucks for a plastic hood... Well all is good... and yep, MN is cold cold cold. Do you shoot a lot of wakeboarding and that? I'd like to do more...
