Da Truth Spitters LIVE @ 169 Bar NYC Tonight

SSooooooo We walked in and they were like which band are you and where are your instruments.
Instruments? Didn't they tell you we do hip hop? The looks at us and asks what do you play? So I say all we need is a CD.
We walk in and its a total rock crowd. For a brief moment I was like fck this place, these people are going to hate this.
But I didn't mention it to anyone because I wanted them to get more stage time and this would be hard but a good lesson.
The girl before us goes on and she plays her guitar and songs but no one is paying attention and is talking the whole way through.
Heh, this is going to suck I think to myself. I could tell by the faces of my guys that they are thinking the same thing.
Its like 15 to 8 and they say we have to go on at 8 because the schedule is booked but I'm like people are on the way but can't find this place. It was hard to find, tucked under the manhattan bridge in China town.
So 8 comes and i'm like they only have 12 minutes of music so we will start at 8:10. The guy was stressing over it but we finally started when 8:10 comes.
Only a few people got there in time but we had to start. They start and of course people are chatting away but like a
minute into it everyone gets quiet and starts clapping to the beat. Then that song ends and they get a giant applause from everyone.
No BS. So the energy goes through the roof for the guys and the next song goes even better. The girls at the bar said, and I quote
"Holy sh1t those guys are really fvcking good." I think the camera was close enough for the mic to pick it up. Very cool to hear that.
I was smiling the whole way through. I am very proud of them to step up and play in a spot like that and play like it was the Garden.
After the show people came up to us to say they really loved the show and someone even gave us a few dollars. Then the promoter took my number to get them into a bigger venue.
This is the best show yet. :)

Hey, congratulations dude! That sounds like a really really good evening :)

I enjoy following your journey with Da Truth Spitters :)

Hey thanks Simon. I'm glad someone is listening. :)
Our plans for 2008 is to complete a mix tape, do a ton of shows and get a cancer awareness tour going. Already spoke to the American Cancer Society and they are interested.
