D90 VS HVX 200 with Letus Extreme

Thanks for everyone's input, much appreciated.

Of course lighting will always be an issue with any shoot and yes other than a smaller lighting kit, I will be dependent on natural lighting sources most of the time. I would expect the Letus to have its time and place, more of a stylistic choice than a mainstay.

I was hoping like many others that the D90 might offer a less cumbersome method of acquiring the "film" shots. Perhaps the next generation of DSLR's will be what we want but until then it seems that the Letus/HVX is what I'll go with. Makes sense since I already have a set of Nikon primes from my F3 days of still photography.

Once again, nice to hear the valuable insight and different opinions from everyone,

Tai

Yeah, I have great hopes for future generations of vDSLRs, although I'm completely satisfied with the D90 as of now. But I agree that the HVX might be more practical for some documentary needs, unless you really need the low light capabilities. For certain types of documentary work you need to keep the camera running non stop, where the D90 is more ideal for short burst of shots. So only you can know what is best for your needs. The D90 is awesome though if it can fill your video requirments and being aware of it's limitations. Best of luck.
