D90 shutter - software or hardware?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the rolling shutter on the D90 is controlled via software or whether it's limited by a hardware implementation. The reason of course, that I'm hoping for a future firmware update. (The Jello is a lot worse than I anticipated)

Of course if it's a hardware issue then I won't waste my time hanging around and will probably pre-order the GH1.

It's software, limited by hardware. Just as any chip it's probably possible to clock it faster but that would increase the heat and since that's already a problem i don't see it happening with a firmware update. Go with the gh1 if jello is a major concern.
