d90 Scene Rehearsal, Prt.2

Man, this looks awesome. Great job. The more I see D90 footage like this the madder I get about Nikon having gotten so close and yet so far.

Very nice!!! In the last scene when he stands up to go to the bathroom, did the exposure pump? What was that?

We just moved to a different bench, the light was changing all over due to partial cloudiness, and I let the camera have it's way with the exposure.. and it gave me that. It likes to read that kind of super-diffused light as a very luminous scene...

One of the perils of the d90. Also I had a super-urg soft Kinon 28mm thrown into the mix which can never be good...

When I do the final on this it'll probably be DVXandromeda w/a nice M2 setup..

the d90 was really great just for a light camera to 'sketch' with..

So you generally let the D90 expose before locking in this footage? No tricking the camera?

I really don't see why Nikon can't update the firmware to lessen compression and give us a higher bit rate. We have the SD card speed required... could someone hack this in?

Matthew, your work with the camera is first-rate. I just want to be certain of your workflow. Do you mean that you shot the scene at the beach (fieldhouse, bench, etc) without locking exposure on the D90?

I PMed you about the actors to keep this on topic.

Sorry, I let the camera auto expose, then once it did that, I locked it, then rolled, and shot the shot with the AE-L locked..
