D90 -> FCE4 -> File?

Hi!
I'm new here and have been looking for the optimal way of exporting a finished D90 movie out of FCE4?

I've tried searching for it but haven't been able to find an exact answear.

Any help would be very apreciated! :)

PS.
I've already tried exporting the movie as a quicktime with the video codec settings maxed out (720p, 24p and no limit on bitrate) and the audio at stereo, 48,000 hz (i think) and 256 kbs. But the resulting file were kinda washed out (weak blacks) and it stuttered/jerked a little.

there's no optimal way, or rather several. your previous try was most likely optimal if that kind of result was what you needed. if you need something else you probably need to do it differently. for each result there's an optimal way.

I'm sorry, english is not my native language. So please excuse my sometimes odd phrasing.

But what I wanted to ask for is how to get a file that doesn't have jerky motion and doesn't ruin the contrast while keeping the HD resolution of the movie.

i know what you meant. i'm just saying that it depends. you gotta be more specific. are you archiving, publishing on vimeo, going to dvd, doing an intermediate for further processing, or any combination of the above? you say "codec" but not which one, which further confuses things.

The goal is a file that I can open in iDVD to make a simple DVD menu and then afterwards burn it to a DVD.

And for codec I've been using whatever it is that's built into FCE4.
