Hey Andrew, with the MB-D80 Nikon grip, can you still mount the camera on a tripod?I would stick with the Nikon brand batteries, you can usually find them for the same price as the competition, and I find they generally have a better lifespan. In regards to a battery grip, I use the MB-D80 Nikon grip, holds 2 EN-EL3e batts and comes with a backup battery tray which powers the camera from 6 AA batts.
yeah, i bought a charger and got a battery with it. it didn't work, said it was at 0% when fully charged, so i asked the seller for a replacement, no problem, except that didn't work either. i got two batteries with my grip that work fine though. they say nikon but i highly doubt it considering the price (free with a $90 grip).

roxsen. beware though. the grip is great and i'm happy with it, but i didn't get all the accessories i paid for and now they are impossible to get hold of. i've sent numerous emails and filed complaints wherever possible and hopefully they'll wake up.

I bought 3 additional $20 batteries with charger on e-bay and they have been running my D90 just fine - in fact I can shoot a full day wedding on just one battery no problems![]()

Sure, they are not Nikon batteries, they are unbranded OEM units, this is where I bought mine from on e-bay: Imode
The nice thing is that these after market batteries charge just fine on my Nikon charger too![]()
