Hey guys,

I never post over here but it appears that you are finding great solutions to the d90s short comings. I am doing a project right now that is finishing 1080 24p and I dont want to shell out for the canon because I have a slew of nikon lenses and the d90 costs less than half as much.

My questions is, how do you think this would perform as a b cam to my ex3 35 setup? all the footage would be blown up to 1080 and that one thread looks great 1080.

Let me know what you guys think and I love learning so post as many links as you can!

The Canon Mark II users actually prefer Nikon glass with an adapter because it allows manual aperture control, something Canon lenses don't have. So in that sense, you are already ready to shoot. Just need the body and adapter. You said you weren't wanting to shell out the money, but the difference between that and the D90 is really remarkable, in terms of sharpness and image quality.

Andrew, arghh on that. for 1. 2 the adapters are not backed by anyone so if you break your camera with the adapter in it and it messed up my 85 1.4 or my mark 2 body I am f'ed on both sides. Ken rockwell does a small piece on the adapters and they are hit and miss. They make me too nervous.

That being said, I think I am gonna do some in car footage of a racing documentary i am doing and my current rig is too heavy to use, i would liek to use a 14mm on a d90. I think.

IDK. How proven is the adapter?

thanks for the response.

Watch out for jello. I'd be really suspicious of rigging a D90 to a vibrating object, such as a racing car.

i wouldn't worry much at 14mm. and as long as the mount is sturdy vibrations don't actually cause much jello, it's when the camera is allowed to tilt that it becomes really bad, which is why handholding is so problematic.

werd dudes the 5d mark 2 looks amazing, i have a d700 so i dont wanna drop another 3k on a camera. but it definitely is tempting.
