D800 with Hyperdeck Shuttle 1

Hey all,

While attempting to record video from the Nikon D800 to a Hyperdeck Shuttle, the camera refused to enter Live View the moment the HDMI cable was connected. Memory cards were removed, but as soon as I attempted to enter Live View in video mode, the mirror would not flip up. As soon as the cable was disconnected, the camera resumed normal operation. I would really like the option of 4:2:2 recording, but of course I would prefer not to purchase another recorder. Any suggestions?

Hi, Have you got the latest firmware update installed. Check the HDMI Output and set as Auto. Is it original Shuttle or Shuttle 2.

Second, what happens if you leave a card in the D800 and then enter Live View mode. Remember you do not have to hit record on the D800 to have a video stream to the Shuttle.

I have the original Hyperdeck, with current firmware. HDMI is set to Auto on the D800. Even with a card installed, as soon as I connect the HDMI cable, the mirror refuses to flip up. As soon as the cable is removed, live view function is restored, with or without a card.

Just as another option, what about the HDMI cable. Have you tried another device just in case it is faulty. Mr. Faulty, Mr.Faulty:grin: English comedy show. Just ignore me.
