D800 with DP6 monitor - best settings?

OK So I was playing with the D800 hooked up to my DP6 last night and to me it seems the best pre-set is C DSLR REC. The only issue I have is when recording to the cameras card, the monitor doesnt scale the image to fill the screen as much as when you hook up a canon dslr. Is there a way to modify one of the other presets that anyone knows of? I skimmed the manual last night but couldn't find anything on how to modify or make your own pre-set.

Also curious to know what signal the D800 outputs via HDMI when recording internally - is it 720p or slightly less than that?
 
I think I remember reading somewhere that if the D800 is recording to the internal card the HDMI output is reduced to 720p.
