Just found that if you assign the Shutter to start video recording and then try and create a custom WB the D800 won't let you. I thought I had a problem camera for a while did a reset and still no joy. When I reset the Shutter function to its default I could then set a custom WB.
Thought I would share so you don't think you have a problem camera like I did
