d800 + ki pro mini + xlr audio?

I know I've seen some d800 into a ki pro mini, but has anyone tested using the XLR ins at the same time on that unit? Confirm audio/video sync?

Seems like connecting up to this recorder, assuming audio is nice and synced would turn the d800 into a pretty decent general purpose video camera, with the timcode in and hdsdi out. thoughts?
 
I haven't used it with that camera but the pix will take the audio separately. If the d800 has audio on the hdmi you could even record 4 channels of audio. 2 from the xlr and 2from the hdmi. It has up to 6 frames of audio delay (200ms) so that you can sync up the audio which will be ahead of the video because of the latency of the camera. I really like the pix and would highly recommend it.
