Nice way to make a blanket statement, get called out and then back track to attempt to add specifics.
You want to people to understand what you're writing, type more than one crappy sentence void of any pertinent information.
Firstly, my original statement was only there to tell the other person there is simply no way for a DSLR to do 14 stops in video end. Period. What is there to call out?
Its been proven time and time again that the d800 doesn't do 14 stops, and i was just addressing that.
That was my point and my only point. There was nothing more to it.
My second post would not have been necessary if you hadn't been obsessed with pointing out to me that the BMCC costs less than 3k. It too was a blanket statement as it told us nothing. We all know it costs 3k. We all know it does more stops than an DSLR...but it isn't 14 stops either. But that's besides my point. I was merely pointing out that current DSLRs simply cannot do 14 stops. Perhaps my choice of analogy could be improved upon, but what is so difficult to comprehend?
I also wasn't comparing the d800 to the RED, just pointing out that if d800 did 14stops, it would be in red/alexa territory, which it isn't.
