but making transition to video. I have the D3 and D3s. selling the D3 and looking to keep the D3s for low light which I think is better than the D750. but Im also getting a D5300 as a backup.

my inquiry and very serious worry is a post by some folks regarding overheating when shooting prolonged shooting with the D750.

it would be my main camera and id be shooting for more than 20 minutes. 25p over here. but I would shoot the 20 minutes and then stop and keep shooting. although DSLR shooting style has intercuts, and shooting times doesnt always hit 20 minutes there are many times on the dance floor that it will hit 20 minutes.

now im nervous because I had my plan set on the D750. I cant afford the D800/10

The only time where I felt the camera heat up or warm to touch was when I was recording 1080p60. Mind you it was out in the open and pretty warm but not direct sunlight. In my continuous recording test the camera never turned off due to overheating and this was 100 mins of consecutive recording.

I have shot weddings with a D800. I have never shot with it for 20 mins straight though. We use a proper camera for stuff requiring that. Though, I don't think you'll have a problem shooting a 20+ minute video on your D750.

it worried me because a pster noted the manual saying it may overheat and then needs to be shut down. and while I wont be shooting nonstop as there will be breaks between the events, there will be times when its hectic and I need the camera to work 2-3 times of the 20 minutes max record time. its kind of worrying. when I had my D600 I did a little video of the ceremony and noted the camera being very hot. it was outdoors though in the afternoon. it got very hot to the touch. my partner says the canon cameras get very hot and at times the SD card is so hot you can hardly hold it.

the D750 will be my workhorse (along side the backup D5300-for the first year till ill upgrade to the D810 as the main and then use the D750 as the backup) camera so Im very worried to take a chance with it. I cant get this worry out of my head that at a first wedding it will fail because it overheats.
