D7000 and Lens question

I have three nikon mount lenses

Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM II
Tamron SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR DiII VC
Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX

Can someone tell me if these lenses will auto focus with D7000 in photo mode and/or video mode?

Thanks!

No, don't have any of those lenses. I only use Nikon glass. It doesn't surprise me that others here are the same.

But if it's any help, the D7000 will focus any Nikon autofocus lens made since 1986. From kenrockwell.com:

Lens Compatibility

There is a focus motor in the D7000, so it works with every AF lens made since 1986.

Even better, there's an aperture-ring feeler, so it meters with all AI and newer (1977-on) manual-focus lenses. The D7000 also gives full-color Matrix metering and EXIF data with manual-focus lenses if you share the lens' data in a menu. More at Nikon Lens Compatibility.

Manual focus lenses work extraordinarily well, with extraordinarily precise and accurate manual focus, especially for ultra-fast lenses like the 58mm f/1.2 Noct-NIKKOR which tax other camera's more simple focusing systems.

You're always on your own with off-brand lenses like Sigma. Readers tell me that their Sigma 105 Macros don't work on the D7000. Potential incompatibility with future cameras is one of the steep prices one pays for trying to save a few dollars yesterday on a cheap lens. Nikon shares nothing with its competitors about lens compatibility, so if you want to buy a Tamron or Sigma, you're gambling that it will work with tomorrow's camera. Good luck.

hey, I dont have any of those lenses specifically but I can safely assume your sigma wont AF correctly in live view. not sure about the other manufactures. It should AF properly outside of live view, and I assume thats the case for your other lenses. I have a sigma 10-20 and it works fine outside of live view.

Thanks for the replies, matthew77 and Efexone. As long as these lenses are compatible with d7000 in picture mode through evf, I may consider d7000 over gh2 for photo works. I own a gh13 which I am happy with its video capability.

I can answer my own question since I own D7000 now. :) Tamron and Tokina are compatible both in evf and live view mode. Sigma 50-150 is only compatible in evf but not compatible in live view mode. No issue since I use live view only for video and when taking video, I only use manual focus.

My Sigma 10-20mm ƒ/4-5.6 EX HSM doesn't focus properly in Live View on my D7000, but works perfectly otherwise. It's entirely usable, just have to remember to toggle to manual focus when shooting video. No issues for stills.
