Thanks for posting that. Unfortunately, I didn't really learn much....except maybe that this type of test isn't very indicative of what to expect. I mean...I saw it...it's just tough to derive anything TRULY USEFUL from it. Please know that I meant it when I said thank you. (truly) But if someone is shooting with this as a light setup, they have much bigger problems than ANY camera can fix. I'll BET MONEY...that this was NOT the point. I'm sure that the point was...hey...here's a circumstance more severe than ANYTHING you will ever shoot. POINT TAKEN. :) I'm sure what we'd all appreciate, is a shot where we can see more of the frame...more noise...more 'real world' level noise.

Thanks again for posting. :)

Hey, no worries. Yeah, I plan to do some more tests tomorrow, I just caught my friend with his T2i and figured I do something that none of the other sample videos show: no light footage, just in case anyone was curious.

If anyone has any requests, let me know, and I'll try to incorporate those into the samples.

Thank you again! :)

I'm sure that people will want to see ISO values, Aperature values, lens types, and prob shutter speed.

Where was your sharpening set on both cameras? I think the best way to test this is with sharpening off on both cameras.

I will do this test again. Didn't have enough time to double check everything. Almost 100% positive both cameras were at default settings of sharpness.

However, shooting with them again today, I felt the D7000 has more detail, but more moire' too.

Overall, these cameras are very comparable in the video functionality. I do enjoy having the Nikon color rendering straight out of the camera!

The default setting on the D7000 is with sharpening applied, in the middle of its range (Standard profile). Don't know about the Canon.

Reducing sharpening to zero makes the video much softer looking. Whereas i usually would shoot with no sharpening at all on most video cameras, I think the Nikon could use a little of it. Nonetheless, I think for testing it would be nice to see both cameras having sharpening off.

On a scale of 0-9 the default sharpening on the D7000 is 3, so I will try the zero setting. I will do some test with the D7000 by itself on Thursday. Thanks for your input.
