D700 Shoots Video

If everybody's coding these things like crazy, then how hard can it be for someone to give us manual control on the 5D?

he was talking about trying to get it to work on a netbook, which, if later, gets it to work for the d90, would be amazing. who here knows perl and all that fancy shmancy stuff

The d700 should take better videos than the d90 because the live-view feed is a higher resolution and not interpolated and fuzzy, right?

hopefully we'll get something announced on PMA if not then NAB
nikon has to do smth to respond to mark 5d II

Unfortunately not. According to the Nikon SDK documentation each LiveView Frame is a BASIC quality JPEG with a max. size of 900KB. Thats not bad but I see also lots of stairsteps which makes the video fuzzy again.

The zoomed in liveview on d700/d300/d3 and HDMI video example look gorgeous and no stair stepping.

But a video feed rip example shows worse than d90
