Hey guys,

First off I am not sure if it has been mentioned yet but the D700 has been released.

I am not sure what the real difference is between the D700 and the D3 as they have the exact same image processor etc.

Main difference.
D3's motor can handle 300,000 shots.
150,000 on the D700.

D3 has a mic for memos.
D3 has a beefier body and can handle more abuse.

D700 has a built in flash.
D700 shoots 5 fps.. 8 with vertical grip.
D3 shoots up to 11 fps.
D3 battery goes for 2000 shots.
D700 batter up to 600.

the acutations for the d700 have got to be more then 150 000 my d80 is 150000. For me the few differences there is don't warrent spending the extra 2 grand.

They've dropped around to $4600-4800 on some retail outlets.
Maybe in a month or so a little more?
But for an extra $1500... if you already have full frame glass... might want to consider the pro body if you are exposed to different types of weather conditions. I don't think Nikon would drop their price too much on those D3 users... might make them a little upset.

The dual CF card feature however is VERY nice...
