So i have been fighting with my d600 and my atomos ninja 1 recorder for a while now.
The problem is 2 fold.
Firstly the ninja 1 doesn't have HDMI out. So if i am just running the camera and recorder and nothing else it works perfectly. The monitor on the Ninja however is low res (640x480 i think) so its pretty useless for pulling focus.
The other problem is that when you have the live view turned on and you plug in a new hdmi connection it turns off and you have to trigger it again.
I have tried powered splitters and passive ones with very little success.
The closest i have gotten was a passive splitter to the ninja and a wireless hdmi transmitter. It worked when i did the following
1. plug in hdmi splitter with live view off.
2. plug in ninja
3. trigger live view
4. plug in wireless transmitter
this worked fine in my testing but then in the field on set it would turn on live view with the recorder and then when i plugged in the second output it would turn off live view.
I tried various methods and orders of connecting these with no success.
Does anybody have a working hdmi splitter on a d600 that they can link me to? or another solution i haven't thought of? I don't have a huge budget for a new recorder or monitors that have pass through already so im kind of in between a rock and a hard place here.
