D40 question.

I recently purchased a Nikon Nikkor 35mm f/2.8 wide angle lens for my 35mm adapter rig, but it turns out, it's not quite wide enough for what I am looking for. So, I'm selling it to my friend who shoots on a Nikon D40 DSLR. Will this lens be compatible with the Nikon D40?

im pretty sure the drive motor on that (for the auto focus) needs to be driven by the camera. And i am also pretty sure the D40 doesn't have that feature. So it will prob only work manually. I would do more thorough research at http://www.kenrockwell.com/ if i were you

There is no drive motor on that because it's a manual lens, and wont have autofocus feature anyway.
