D4/RGB cable craps out

The supplied RGB to D4 cable is really trash. I used it for 2 days last week and it has given up the ghost. The blue connection is not working. I've found this at Markertek:

It looks like the right cable but I can't be sure. It also has BNC connectors which is a plus. And it's Canare...good cable. Has anybody got any experience with this cable? I need a replacement and I don't want what Panasonic can give me. It's weak.

How dissapointing...a good Canare cable would have been great. Thanks for the links Ozduc. One of those may get me through the next job inexpensively but it looks like I may have to go the custom route to get a descent cable.

I've voted in your poll siniarch...however I'm really looking for a longer cable, not a shorter one. I have the Panasonic 17" monitor...can't mount that on the camera! But I suppose having a shortee would be worthwhile as well.

well getken, let me know what lenght are you looking for. nothing is set on stone yet. and if more people rather have a 20' or so then that's what I'll ask for.

The nice thing about BNC connections is that you can reliably extend them because unlike RCA connectors, they are locking. You could therefore use a short D4 to BNC cable for both an on-camera monitor as well as a production monitor by adding an extension cable with male ends on one end and female ends on the other.
