Anyone find it interesting that they changed the HDMI output on the D3s? Im wondering if it could possibly be better quality than what records in cam. I know a lot of other cameras do this (unfortunately not the other Nikons). Anyone know the answer on this?
Also Ive read the D3s uses higher audio bitrate, is this true as well?
Has anyone used "handheld" mode (ie, not manual control) on the D3s which SUPPOSEDLY enables PHASE detection AF (with all 51 points)? Seems like this might be quite an advantage for run and gun (not recording sound on camera of course).
Looking to optimize the video out of my camera so I'd appreciate any other suggestions as well (really worth it to convert to cineform for editing? picture controls? jaggy edges problem (destepping?)
Finally, whats the preference for mjpeg encoders/decoders here? Right now I think I have picvideo or mainconcept, Im not sure. For sure though if I do have picvideo it is the version before they added native support for 64 bit.
