D300s video-in HD quality

I don't know that you need one for the D300s. I'm trying to find out. If they have to go through a bunch of loops like the D90 then I won't buy it.
 
Jesus christ, and you're trying to tell me this is a "discussion board"? I'm not sure where you got the idea that you're not supposed to listen to others on those. NOBODY THINKS THIS CLIP LOOKS BAD.
 
what camera are you using that needs a plug in.

again I don't want a camera that needs a plug in and I'm trying to find out what this to filmmakers did

Yeah that's what happens when you don't listen. The whole reason we're complaining in this thread is because we've just seen with our own eyes that the d300 has stairstepping, just like the d90.
 
Please its sunday.......Well it seems they think it is bad enough that they are selling all their Nikon gear and getting a 30p canon.

I'll try again. If I could get the kind of video out or a 35mm DSLR camera without doing plug-ins and fixing it in post I would buy the D300s. If I can't I will not buy it and I will not sell my nikon gear and get canon. That is my view.

Those two videos look really good. You guys said "look at that curtain thats it Nikon doesn't get it"
I don't think the canons or the Panny is perfect either. Did you watch the other video?

and one other thing the D300s is not even out yet. So it is really hard to compare it with the D90.
The video Nikon is showing is pretty darn good. I'll wait till it is out to pass judgement.
 
I'm wondering if they didn't make a few internal improvements. I guess once the camera is out and people are using it we will know more.

That of course is true but the specs are identical to the D90 (except for the audio input and there are no specs about that other than that it's there). No???
 
that doesn't mean that didn't fix it or improve it...right? Like I said the D200 had problems. I returned mine. About 6 months later I got another one. Nikon just fixed the problem.

So what is on paper with the D90 and what is on paper with the D300s might not mean they are alike. They could just fix or improve the issues at the factory and Nikon will not come out and say they messed up. It is a Japanese culture thing I think!!! LOL


And Matt maybe it still sucks. We have only seen video that Nikon is putting out. When the camera comes out in sept we will get first hand accounts from users.

no we said look at the curtains, this camera has stairstepping just like the d90, hence we still need that very plugin you don't want to use. and since you don't want to use it i think you should be angry with nikon too.

but for crying out loud, we're not judging the image quality, nor are we comparing specs on paper, we're noticing that the video has the signature stairstepping we know all too well from the d90.
 
canon and the panny also has problems are you mad at them?
I watch the video and to tell you the truth I thought it was really good. I didn't see what you are talking about,,,,,where was it on the video?
 
You are comparing spec on paper because you told me they were the same on both cameras.

You are not judging the image?
Like I said in my opinion what Nikon is putting out,,,,is damn good. Could it be better? Probably but most cameras could be better.

but canon have improved their video function, panny most likely will. again, it's not the problems per se, it's the lack of interest in fixing them.
