I use the Switronix version of the D-tap to Canon batt cable on my Graticle HD.

I don't really like the wording on one of the sentences in the description of the first link("Dear Buyer, Please Recognize..." Did one of the "Nigerian Princes" that wants to give you a million bucks write this?) and it has no reviews and the second link has four reviews and three are ONE STAR...

I get it, so much of the gear in the business is expensive and people don't want to spend a lot on the "non-sexy" things, but why does everyone try to "cheap out" on power related gear?

The first link does seem to be representing itself as the Switronix cable, but then says that it is it's own... Hedge your bets and stay with the big boys.

Hi Run&Gun,

Thanks for your reply.

I don't really looking for the cheapest cable, I did'nt know the Zacuto cable which is a little less expensive that the SmallHD and it seems to work with the 502. So thank you for that.

I am a bit disappointed by SmallHD which sells very expensive its accessories for sometimes a poor quality. For example I bought the sunhood for smallHD 502 and it broke after the second use! And I'm not alone in this case!

My 502 also died only 10 months after the purchase and I had not used it much.

So the big boys are sometimes not so sexy!

I am in the video business for a long time now and I can give you many examples of things from "Brand Companies" that didn't last much longer. For example the accessories of the FS7 (UVF mount, Microphone holder...) which are a piece of sh...

We all know that almost everything is made in the same place today and that big companies make a huge margin on accessories, sometimes without a greatest quality.

I have the old version of SmallHD's D-Tap to LP-E6 cable. It's crap. I never remove it from the monitor anymore, since the LP-E6 part has a crack which appeared after I pushed it out of the battery socket on the monitor (I only used as much force as required) three times.

Duol, unfortunately smallHD was gobbled up by Vitec a while back and they have gone downhill since then. I've been told that there are some at Vitec that don't really like the brand.
