D-tap? Powering a Nano from a Panny compatable battery?

I see that there are several configurations for Panny compatible batteries. Basically any battery for an HMC150, HMC40, or HMC80 will work.

The smallest, might be best for a merlin type short term use:
VW-VBG070 = 900mAh

Growing bigger
VW-VBG130 = 1350mAh
VW-VBG260 = 2650mAh (probably the sweet spot between charging time, cost and use time)
VW-VBG390 = 3950mAh (probably the sweet spot for long live events)
VW-VBG6 = 5500mAh but requires a VW-VH04 holder kit, sort of a remote battery mount

What I don't see is any D-tap batteries for the the AF100. The Nano is designed to work just fine on these low voltage batteries so I wouldn't want to add a pound for a separate battery.

Or, is there an adapter so I can use my Swit brick batteries off the EX1 (~twice the voltage), or plug the cable in the back of the camera the same as the EX1 with a D-tap to the Nano?

I see that SWIT has batteries with a power tap for the HVX200/200A/HPX170, but not for HMC series. We need to get SWIT to do the same for HMC and AF100. I told them this at Createasphere in Burbank. I will keep bugging them--they're in the SF Bay Area and their rep. and I go back a long way.

Hey Duke- I don't know if this answers your D-tap to Nano question.

Noel Evans asked a similar question in the battery thread, I posted this:

I've used this AB Pouch Style Gold Mount for the HPX170 and DVX for camera power and AB Ultralight:

You do have to put the batt in a pouch (I use Hytron 50s), but it's less weight on the cam.

But it looks like they don't make it for the HMC/AF100 mount.

So I'm thinking of getting a second HMC/AF100 AC Adapter/Charger (temporarily out of stock):
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...C_Adapter.html
and taking the AC Adapter plate and splicing it on the AB Gold Mount wire, using the 2nd AC Adapter/Charger for charging batteries only and the one that comes with the AF100 for charging and AC. Hope that makes sense.

And here's AB D Tap to 4 pin XLR:

Looking at the pictures of pre-production units D-tap will not be an option with AB set-up, as SDI and HDMI ports are in the back of the camera instead of on the side. Placing Goldmount plate in the back would block access to these ports.

It won't be a problem if the D-tap comes straight off the rear of the battery like it does on my current ones

No plate is needed.

Due to voltage conversions from 14v to 7.2v it looks like the specific battery would be the best way to go. The Nano will run on 7.2v.

That's a battery for an EX1 just as an example. I'm not at the same computer right now, but if I recall its a PL-U95. If we had something like that, with a D-tap, for the Panasonic slot it would be fantastic.

IDX makes a plate that has a Dual D-taps, one 12v (this will run the NF I use it for that now on my EXcams, it will also run on camera lights etc.) and one that is switchable 5v or 7.3v so this will power the F100.

I plan to make a shoulder system for the F100 that incorporates this and other battery solutions as well as NanoFlash mount, follow focus mattebox etc.

I will post here as soon as I have my prototype working. I have an AF100 on order. I currently make systems like this for for EXcams.
