It's looking very much like the Wex aren't the only ones on the GH3 Rip Off bandwagon, at the moment France and Germany are offering a far better pre-order price than UK residents are being offered.

In Euros this is: €1856.77

Versus from Germany: €1274 (inc. delivery to the UK)

Not sure you can blame WEX or CVP for fluctuations in international currency. Often their prices are better than those on the continent and the US. And since there are plenty of good companies in Europe you can buy from, I don't see why this is an issue.

Almost €600 is no mere currency fluctuation.
 
CVP have said on Twitter today about the GH3 that "We offer a price match against EU pricing of non-grey product from an authorised source..." It's not going to be a grey import from technikdirekt, so I guess it depends what CVP deem "authorised source" to whether they'll match the German price.
 
I'll also Tweeted @PanasonicUK and I suggest any UK potential buyer does the same.

I'm not entirely surprised at Panasonic not replying, although it's fairly unprofessional to have a Twitter account that ignores customer enquiries, CVP also haven't replied about doing a price match once shown the German price so maybe their European price match is a hollow promise.
 
As of yesterday, CVP's price match pop-up (no direct link, but it's below the price on each product page) notes:

The competitor must be UK based and an officially appointed dealer for the manufacturer of the goods in question​

I'm not sure if this has changed, but it doesn't look like they're going to match German prices. My hunch is that the UK price may miraculously change before the product is released.

Speaking of which - have we any idea when the GH3 is expected to ship? Late November?

Maybe CVP have changed the price match, naughty, LOL. GH3 is expected November judging by dates retailers are hinting at, you'd imagine it'd be the end of November and I wouldn't be surprised to see in slip into December but I hope not.
