Cutting HVX and HV20?

Would the HV20 be a great b camera for the HVX? All I'm worried about is picture. I'm using Edius BC 4.5 so mixing codecs won't be a problem.

I have shot 2 projects using the HV20 as a b camera - works fine but make sure you transcode the HV20 60i footage to 24p properly otherwise you may have sync issues.

i dont know anything about the HV20 except it's HD and about a grand, but if i am shooting 720pn/24 on the HVX and i want to use the HV20 as a B camera, does it shoot in 720/24?

does it only shoot 1080i? if so can i down rez in post or something?

It's 1080-only, either 1080/60i or 1080/24P embedded within 60i. No 720 is possible.

You could downconvert in post, but then you'll still have the problem of being embedded in a 2:3 pulldown system. There are some workflows that have been created to strip out the pulldown but it's not intuitive, you'll have to read up on it.

nah, i think i'll pass...if i need a B camera that bad i'll just buy another HVX and make things easier for myself. thanks for the tip.

time is money and a 2nd or 3rd HVX is your best bet.
