Hey guys. I was wondering if someone can help me. I want to cut together a new reel for myself, but I have several different kinds of footage (PAL, NTSC, 16x9, DVCPro50, DV, etc...). Is there a way to just cut together all of these different kinds of footage into one reel...., with the hope of limiting the number of renders?

Yup.
Just create a project with your final format. - Choosing this might be hard, it will depend on taste, the format of most of your footage, the presentation environment, etc.

Depending on your hardware, you'll get from none at all to full RT performance. Mixing all those format in any Seqeuence set-up will make you render to some extent.

I'd chose my output format, whatever format you will be sending this out on. Let's say NTSC-DV for example. I'd go to the Browser and cmd+click on every non-NTSC-DV clip I had, go to File > Batch Export. Then set the output to be NTSC-DV and export it all. Reimport the folder you exported all that to and use all NTSC clips, no rendering at all.

There may or may not be any quality loss in the translation of the file formats. Many variables effect that. But try it, see what happens. Won't hurt anything, and you'll master Batch Export and know what happens when you re-encode stuff to other formats.

But, that's what I'd do for starters. Either that, or just render. Depending on your hardware, render times can be long, or just a couple of seconds.
