I have a dolly that has a hole cutout in the center. I was told this is to strap the tripod down. Does anyone know what kind and where to get the strap? Or how it looks? and how does it strap down? Does it go inside the center hole and then outside around the edges of the dolly an then back up onto the tripod?

Usually, you would use a lightweight adjustable ratchet tie-down strap. Normally you would hook one end onto the bottom of the tripod bowl or tripod bowl clamp and then the other end would go through the dolly hole if it's a board dolly and hook onto a rod held across under the bottom of the hole. You would then tension the ratchet to take up the strap or cord slack until you had sufficient tension on the strap or cord. That way the whole assembly of tripod and dolly were locked together. A similar technique is used for metal spider three-leg dollies. Using cords like these.
